Sustainable Issues in Urban Planning and Landscape Design Workshop

The Belmonte in partnership with the University IST in Lisbon, South China University of technology,College of Architecture in Guangzhou and DaST have set up the II International Workshop SCUT/IST/DaST. whose 2009 theme Sustainable Issues in Urban Planning and Landscape Design 25 July to 14 August The workshop papers are available on request .Please send an email to the Belmonte.

PROGRAM
24th Friday – Arrival of chinese students and professors
25th Saturday – Morning - Free. Afternoon – Welcome session.
26th Sunday – Visit to Pombalin Downtown and Castle historical area
27th Monday – 9h30. Lecture on Urban evolution of Lisbon – from fundation to Alvalade Plan – Professor António Ricardo da Costa.
- 11h 00 XXth century second half and the development of Lisbon metropolitan Area – Professor Fernando Nunes da Silva.
- 12h30 Lunch
- 13h30 Visit to Lisbon Metropolitan Area (Professor António Ricardo da Costa, Professor Fernando Nunes da Silva Professor Jorge Gonçalves).
28th Tuesday - 10h00 Visit to Caparide valley.
29th Wednesday- 10h00 Visit to Fronteira Palace. Afternoon at IST.
30th Thursday - 10h00 Seminar. Patrimonial city and Sustentability.
31st Friday – Visit to Sintra “Romantic Landscape in Portugal”.
1st Aug. Saturday Moving from Belnonte Palace to the University Residence.
2nd August Sunday – Free day
From 3rd to 14th Aug – Workshop on the proposed working themes in IST.

As Workshop will finish by midle August the results will be presented as papers.
