Gil Vicente Suite was named after the famous 16th century Renaissance Portuguese writer, who was also the father of Portuguese theatre, and jeweler. His most known literature piece is the ‘‘Auto da Barca do Inferno’’. The Gil Vicente suite is located on the 2nd floor of the Palacio, on the Northwest corner, adjacent to one of the Muslim towers, and to the Cerca da Alcaçova. It transmits a feeling of nature and lightness, due to its inner winter garden.
Its the largest suite, due to its winter garden with a glass ceiling and its two terraces. It also has one living room with fireplace, one bedroom with a king size bed, a bathroom featuring Portuguese "white Estremoz" marble. To access the top terraces, one floor above, one has to.
The decoration of the suite is simple but tasteful, two XVIIth century antique writing tables, all the decor has been conceived around spices in brunches, in cases, in cushions on the scuted chair of the bathroom and the portuguese discoveries.
