Fernão Mendes Pinto Suite

This suite was named after Fernão Mendes Pinto, a 15th century Portuguese traveler and chronist.

The Fernão Mendes Pinto suite is located on the 2 and half floor of the Palácio, facing east. It transmits a feeling of privacy, and is ideal for executives traveling alone, as it is a junior suite, with an inner room, bedroom and bathroom.

The bathroom is entirely tiled with another portuguese type of marble,the "viana verde"; the entrance of the bathroom constituted of part of the roman tower wall shows an enormous signature of Jean Cocteau ,remains of the earthquake of 1755. The suite is painted in blue and white ,associated to a very tonic, yellow salvage silk.

It features an original letter dates 1817 signed by D. João VI,King of Portugal Of the Algarves,emperor of Brazil , while 14. An 18th century table painted black, a rare 18th century golden lamp in wood with two angels.Paintings by The view from this suite is spectacular, Alfama and its churches, the Tejo river southeast.
